Echo Technologist Job in Bangor, ME

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer (Echo Technologist) for a 91-day travel assignment at St Joseph Healthcare in Bangor, Maine. This is a days shift position offering $2,749 weekly pay, with a start date of October 26, 2026.

Your Role

You will operate echocardiography equipment to obtain diagnostic cardiovascular imaging for Cardiologist interpretation. Your responsibilities include performing all types of echocardiography exams—standard echocardiograms, limited studies, stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms. You will utilize the Synapse Echocardiography system to generate preliminary reports for physician review and final editing.

Key Duties

• Operate echo machines using proper echocardiography technique, imaging display, annotation, and labeling protocols
• Demonstrate proficiency with color Doppler, power Doppler, spectral Doppler, and M-mode imaging
• Evaluate image quality and ensure optimal demonstration of anatomic regions and pathology
• Perform portable exams and transmit images to Synapse
• Place peripheral IVs as needed for studies such as agitated saline, Definity, and stress echo
• Document patient care services in the hospital electronic medical record system
• Manage PACS and Synapse systems, including sending study images to outside facilities
• Work independently and collaboratively with the clinical team

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of echocardiography experience
• One of the following current credentials: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI), or Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CARDUP)
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
• Allied Health Professional degree
