About this role
University of Virginia Medical Center is seeking an Allied Health Professional Special Procedures Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Charlottesville, Virginia. You will work 8-hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a rotating on-call schedule every fourth week.
Role Overview
You will provide imaging support in the operating room, working directly with vascular interventional radiology procedures. This is a technologist position—not a nursing role. You'll gain hands-on experience with advanced interventional techniques and state-of-the-art equipment in a Level I trauma center.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT VI certification and current BLS certification
- Virginia state license (pending license acceptable if eligible for temporary license)
- Minimum 2 years of interventional radiology or special procedures experience
- Epic charting system proficiency
Preferred Experience
- Trauma Level I facility experience
- Angioplasty, carotid stenting, and endovascular interventions (EVAR, TEVAR)
- Hybrid OR procedures
- Thrombolysis and thrombectomy
- Upper and lower extremity angiography
- Ultrasound skills
- Vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Siemens equipment and ARTIS PHENO system familiarity
