Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 or 4x12 shift schedules with self-scheduling
• Care for mixed acuity patients including medical surgical and progressive care unit patients
• Patient ratios: 1:5-6 for medical surgical patients, 1:3-4 for PCU patients
• Work with oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary patients
• Manage cardiac drips including cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips
• Care for unstable stroke patients and those requiring BiPAP
• Must have solid neurology experience
• Float to other units within hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays required
• Weekend coverage required
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Daily census of 29-31 patients across 31 beds
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Must have Indiana state, compact, or Indiana temporary license in hand prior to start
• Scrub color requirement: red top, black bottoms
• Chart using Cerner system
