Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work on Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with 35 beds
• Day/Evening patient ratios: 5:1 (stretch to 6-7), Night ratios: 6-7:1 (stretch to 8-10 if staff calls in)
• Every other weekend requirement
• 5 hours of orientation provided
• Must float within scope to meet facility needs between like units
• Block scheduling available but not guaranteed
• Maximum 1 week RTO allowed per contract
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience is a hard requirement
• NY license required in hand to submit
• 1 year of experience required, first-timers accepted
• Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with osteoarthritis and fractures
• Required skills include: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, blood product administration, peripheral line care, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), PCA, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management, wound care/wound vac
• Support from interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Candidates within 75 miles of facility not accepted
• Modules completed pre-start with up to 5 billable hours
