Telemetry RN Job in Kingsport, TN

Holston Valley Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Telemetry unit in Kingsport, TN. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 5, 2026.

Position Overview

You will provide direct patient care on a 34-bed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit serving adult patients with orthopedic, neurological, and trauma post-operative diagnoses. You will work a 3x12 night shift schedule with a 36/36 rotation and every-other-weekend requirement. There are no call responsibilities. Your weekly pay is $2,332.80.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients via telemetry and manage 1:7 patient ratios across all shifts
• Access and manage ports; administer blood products and manage central line blood draws
• Manage BiPAP/CPAP support, chest tubes, and wound care
• Float to other units as needed to support census demands
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education initiatives
• Collaborate with IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements

• RN degree with 1 year of medical-surgical telemetry experience
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must live 100+ miles from the facility
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Onboarding

You will complete 24 hours of orientation (16 hours non-billable), beginning on a Sunday with online competency-based learning modules. Interviews typically occur within 24–48 hours of an offer. You must complete a drug test 12–14 calendar days prior to your start date. Facial hair must be trimmed or removed per CDC fit-testing guidelines.

Additional Details

The hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes. This assignment provides hands-on experience in acute medical-surgical nursing with strong interdisciplinary support and defined patient care protocols.
