About this role
You will serve as a Registered Nurse on our Med Surg/Telemetry unit at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor, Vermont. This is an 11.5-hour night shift position with a 91-day duration, starting August 3, 2026.
Role Responsibilities
- Coordinate total nursing care for patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5
- Participate in patient and family teaching
- Provide leadership and maintain professional nursing standards in cooperation with interdisciplinary team members
- Float to Acute Rehab and other units within scope of practice as needed
- Serve as backup Charge Nurse when required
- Respond to on-call requests as scheduled
Scheduling
- Every other weekend schedule required, including holidays as needed
- Block scheduling will not be considered
- 48-hour guarantee is not available
- All scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application
Required Qualifications
- Current Vermont RN license or Compact license
- Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg/Rehab experience
- Charge RN experience (non-negotiable)
- Minimum 3 months previous travel nursing experience
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications
- Medical Surgical skills checklist, current within 1 year
- At least one supervisory-signed employment reference from the past two years
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Essential Requirements
- You must have your own vehicle; this is a firm requirement as the community lacks public transportation

- Average daily patient census: 22
