PACU RN Job in Lexington, Kentucky

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Lexington, Kentucky. This is a 12-hour shift position, 3rd shift, Thursday through Saturday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The assignment is 89 days, starting October 5, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,229.

In this role, you'll implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person, with focus on healing and wellness. Your responsibilities include:

• Performing and documenting comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice
• Collecting objective and subjective data and obtaining patient health information from family or others as necessary
• Developing problem lists and prioritizing patient needs based on input from the inter-professional team
• Implementing patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Explaining procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
• Recognizing, responding to, and communicating changes in patient condition appropriately
• Conducting and documenting ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies
• Delegating tasks appropriately and overseeing team members in patient care activities
• Identifying and addressing educational needs of patients based on level of comprehension
• Facilitating the patient discharge process including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management

You'll also actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring. Throughout your work, you'll consider patient culture, age, and developmental level in all care decisions, and promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions.
