Job Details:

• Perform breast imaging procedures including mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and breast ultrasound biopsy assistance
• Follow MQSA and ACR guidelines for breast imaging procedures
• Demonstrate knowledge of breast anatomy, pathological conditions and safe radiation administration
• Review patient requisitions for consistency and accuracy of examination orders
• Operate mammography and stereotactic equipment according to established protocols
• Conduct and document quality control ensuring equipment meets MQSA and ACR safety standards
• Educate and communicate with patients before, during, and after breast imaging procedures
• Review breast imaging examinations for technical accuracy and present to radiologist
• Schedule breast imaging appointments and coordinate examinations for continuity of care
• Assist with department workflow management and ensure proper patient charging
• Manage medical supply inventory to ensure cost-effective departmental operations
• Participate in breast health education and promotional events
• Assist in orientation of new employees and healthcare professionals
• Maintain 24 CEU credits per A.R.R.T. guidelines every two years
• Keep current CPR certification
• 1 year of experience preferred with healthcare experience preferred
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with Mammography (M) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Must obtain computer skills within 90 days for online learning and system access
• Physical demands include 40% standing, 20% sitting, 20% walking with occasional lifting up to 35 lbs
• Must be able to work with patients from adolescence through geriatric populations
