PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
• 17-bed Phase 1 PACU unit
• Work weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Call requirements include assigned weekend call approximately once every 3 months (Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Holiday call on assigned rotation with no more than one major holiday per year
• 60-minute call response time required
• PACU experience preferred, ICU or emergency department experience also helpful
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• No floating requirements to other units
• Work with Epic electronic medical record system
• Handle post-operative patients including occasional ventilator patients and BiPap/CPAP patients
• May recover ICU patients when ICU beds unavailable and hold ICU patients overnight
• Perform EKG monitoring and review with physician consultation for official reads
• No patient care assistants on unit
• Surgical services scrubs provided through vending machine system
• Modified orientation process for travel nurses
• 2 shifts cancellation policy per 13-week contract
• BSN not required
