Special Procedures Technologist Job in Baton Rouge, LA

You'll work as a Special Procedures Technologist in the Interventional Radiology and Cardiology department at Ochsner Medical Center – Baton Rouge. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 8, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 5 days per week, 8–10 hour shifts
• Every other weekend coverage required
• On-call up to 3 times per week; weekday call rotates based on weekend assignment (3 times on non-weekend weeks, 2 times on weekend weeks)
• You must live within 30 minutes of the facility and respond to call-outs
• Weekly pay: $2,981

Role Responsibilities

You'll support a daily patient census averaging 6 and perform cardiac catheterization lab (CCL) procedures independently. Your work will include embolization, coiling, ablations, and implant procedures (ports, pacemakers, ICDs). You must be proficient with advanced devices: Impella, IABP, IVUS, Shockwave, Rotoblator, laser systems, and thrombectomy equipment. You'll manage STEMI cases with emphasis on door-to-balloon (DTB) and first-to-balloon (FTB) times under 60 minutes, handle peripheral and electrophysiology procedures, and monitor hemodynamics.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Prior travel healthcare experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, ARRT(R), CCI RCIS
• Louisiana state license (LSRTBE)
• Experience with EPIC charting and Cupid documentation systems
• Strong independent work capability and teamwork orientation
• Community hospital experience preferred

You'll need to demonstrate proficiency in cardiac ablation, electrophysiology procedures, pacemaker insertion, rotablator atherectomy, thrombectomy, stent placement, IVC filter placement and removal, and hemodynamic monitoring. A patient-first mindset and ability to work confidently under pressure are essential.
