Cytotechnologist Job in Augusta, GA

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Cytotechnologist for a 98-week travel assignment beginning July 20, 2026. You will work 5x8 day shifts with block scheduling, earning $2,683 weekly.

Role Responsibilities

• Perform analytical cytology procedures requiring professional-level knowledge to execute, interpret, and analyze results, especially abnormal or atypical findings
• Process specimens using Autocyte, Conventional, SurPath, and ThinPrep methodologies
• Handle diverse specimen types including Ascitic Fluid, Esophageal, Gastric, and Spinal samples
• Execute staining, quality control/quality assurance, and specimen labeling/identification tasks
• Support patient populations ranging from neonates to geriatrics

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of cytotechnology experience; first-time travelers not accepted
• Previous charge experience required
• Current ASCP and ASCP-CT certifications
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records system

Assignment Details

• Day shift hours may vary
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• Holiday coverage required: work all major holidays if one or two fall during assignment; work two of three or more
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Floating is rare and within facility scope of practice as needed
• Wear teal scrubs
