PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekly pay: $2,016
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Blocked scheduling requests accommodated

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage patient ratios of 1:4-5 (you must be comfortable with 1:5 ratio)
• Care for adult patients with neurological conditions, including neurosurgical recovery and stroke management
• Manage 5 dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
• Provide IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Administer medications and cardiac drips (no titration)
• Deliver respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Participate in Rapid Response teams and maintain isolation precautions
• Float to other units within your clinical skillset as needed

Requirements and Support

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience; previous charge experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• EPIC charting experience required
• 48 hours of orientation provided
