About this role
You'll work as an RN on a 32-bed telemetry unit at Mercy Hospital Springfield, providing direct patient care across medical and medical telemetry patients, including those with developmental delays. This is a 13-week night shift assignment running 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three days per week.
Role Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and those with medical comorbidities
- Monitor telemetry and manage drug titration with competence and precision
- Operate telemetry monitors, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, and lift equipment
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Work with patient ratios of 1:6–1:7 on nights (ratios not guaranteed)
- Float to other units on a rotational basis as needed
Requirements
- Current RN license, eligible for Missouri licensure or already licensed in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year inpatient telemetry experience
- BLS certification from AHA (required)
- NIHSS certification (may be obtained before start date)
- Available for full orientation week on day shift before beginning night shifts
Schedule & Compensation
Work 3×12 nights with no call requirements. Weekend hours as required by facility. Weekly guaranteed hours are 36 or 48 (to be confirmed on submission). You'll earn $2,102.40 per week. Orientation for night shift takes place on day shift and you must be available the entire week. Request time off (RTO) must be made up on the back end and is not approved during the first week; holiday RTO is limited to one per assignment.
Work Environment
The unit uses the EPIC EMR system. Black scrubs are required (no exceptions). Physical demands include standing and walking for most of the shift, lifting up to 50 lbs, and frequent bending and stooping. You'll care for all age groups and work alongside your team to deliver coordinated, compassionate care.
