ED Registered Nurse Job in Waterbury, CT

You will join the Emergency Department at Waterbury Hospital as a Registered Nurse on the night shift. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026, paying $3,075.84 weekly.

Schedule & Logistics

• 4x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Dark blue scrubs

Clinical Environment

This is an inner-city Emergency Department serving adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with a 4:1 patient ratio across all shifts. You will work in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center environment and use Cerner for documentation, Accudose and Omnicell for medication systems, and SBAR for communication.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of Emergency Department experience
• Documented experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center (required)
• Inner city emergency department experience (required)
• Current ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, and TNCC certifications

Required Skills

• Triage
• Blood product administration
• CVA management
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• IV initiation and maintenance
• General Emergency Department care (combined adult/pediatric)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous charge nurse experience
• Community hospital background
• Cerner experience

The unit offers interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary coverage.
