PCU Registered Nurse Job in Kansas City, MO

BJC West - Saint Lukes Hospital Plaza is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026, working 3x12 night shifts at $2,212.53 weekly.

Position Requirements:

• Current Kansas and Missouri licenses or active Compact License at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Demonstrated travel nursing experience
• BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and Compact License certifications required
• Proficiency with Epic charting system

Shift Details:

• Night shift hours (3x12 schedule)
• 8 weekend shifts required within each 6-week period (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday combinations)
• Maximum 7 days off between scheduled shifts
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13 weeks
• Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities as needed

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Patient ratio of 5:1 on nights
• Daily census approximately 20 patients
• Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Post-operative management for bariatric surgery, urology, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and trauma patients
• Manage epidural analgesia, PCA pumps, ketamine drips, and lidocaine infusions
• Maintain continuous bladder irrigation, chest tubes, wound care and wound vacs, PICC lines, and surgical drains
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Health Requirements:

• Flu vaccine required (medical and religious exemptions accepted)
