Respiratory Therapist Job in Muncie, IN

IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work 4x12 hour night shifts with a weekly pay of $3,144.96, starting June 23, 2026.

Role Overview

You will float between NICU, pediatric acute care, and adult acute care settings, providing respiratory support across all patient populations including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and adults. You will attend high-risk deliveries in the NICU, manage airways, administer medications, operate ventilators, perform ABG analysis, deliver oxygen therapy, and provide treatments including suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, and CPAP.

Schedule & Requirements

• 4x12 hour night shifts every other week
• 24 weekend shifts required per contract
• Holiday coverage required; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 72 hours of orientation provided
• 100% floating between NICU, pediatric acute care, and adult acute care is required

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Recent NICU experience required; willingness to float to adult population is mandatory
• Current Indiana RRT license (must be in hand to apply)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NBRC RRT
• Two supervisor references required
• Travel healthcare experience required; first-time travelers are accepted

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Trauma and teaching hospital experience
• Emergency Department or bronchoscope experience
• Equipment familiarity: Hamilton G5, Philips V60 ventilators
• Cerner charting system experience
