ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as a registered nurse in a 101-bed Emergency Department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a three-day-per-week position with 12-hour shifts beginning at 6:45 AM and ending at 7:15 PM, running for 91 days starting April 20, 2026. Your weekly pay is $1,918.44.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in all sections of the Emergency Department with no floating to other units
• Manage typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
• Use Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and the Cerner documentation system
• Demonstrate teamwork mentality, coach colleagues, and provide real-time feedback
• Apply AIDET principles, maintain respectful behavior, and keep patient boards current

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Current certifications before start date: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Ability to commit to every other weekend shifts
• Flexibility to work across all ED sections

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center
• Experience in a comprehensive stroke center
• High-volume emergency department experience (more than 100,000 visits annually)

Facility Information

You will receive a 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour floor shift to begin. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center. Dress code requires navy scrubs in all navy, all white, or navy and white combinations. Tobacco use is prohibited on all campus properties, including personal vehicles.
