About this role
Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville, WI is seeking an MRI Technologist for a travel assignment. You will work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Thursday through Saturday, with call rotation required. The assignment runs 84 days, beginning June 15, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,920.
In this role, you will perform MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. Your responsibilities include:
- Preparing patients for procedures and providing instruction to obtain desired results while minimizing anxiety
- Applying magnetic resonance safety principles to protect patients, yourself, and others
- Selecting and operating magnetic resonance systems, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment
- Positioning patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest while respecting patient safety and comfort
- Immobilizing patients as required for appropriate examination
- Selecting appropriate pulse sequences based on established protocols and data acquisition parameters
- Performing venipuncture and starting and maintaining venous access
- Preparing and administering contrast media
- Verifying consent and screening forms using appropriate scripting, barriers, and identifiers
- Assisting physicians with interventional procedures
- Practicing aseptic technique and observing universal precautions
- Evaluating images and data for technical quality
- Manipulating and reconstructing digital data for display with proper identification
- Utilizing radiology information systems including PACS to complete records, reports, and archive images
- Initiating basic life support action when necessary
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and serving on committees as requested
- Providing practical instruction to partners and students
Required Qualifications: You must be a graduate of an accredited radiography program with prior experience as an MRI Technologist. ARRT Radiography registration and ARRT MRI registration are required, along with approved BLS certification. You may be required to work flexible hours, alternate shifts, and weekends as needed to support department needs.
