SLP Job in Augusta, GA

You will work as a Speech-Language Pathologist in an inpatient rehabilitation setting at Doctors Hospital - Augusta GA. This is a day shift position, 5 days per week, 8 hours daily, running 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The assignment is 91 days, beginning June 22, 2026.

About the Role

You will be part of the inpatient rehabilitation unit on the 6th floor, which has 28 beds. Your patient load is 6 to 8 patients per day, with individual sessions lasting 30 to 45 minutes based on referrals. You will perform bedside swallow exams, Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS), and VitalStim therapy. Your clinical responsibilities include dysphagia evaluation and treatment, cognitive assessment and treatment, and stroke rehabilitation support.

Equipment and Systems

You will use VitalStim, Bioness, PneumoVest, and BITS Visual and Cognitive Program. Documentation occurs in the MEDITECH EMR system.

Scheduling and Support

On-call responsibilities are limited to urgent evaluations for swallow or diet concerns and are rarely required. You will not float to other units. Nursing staff ratios are dependent on census.

Requirements

• Georgia state license
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
• Competency in MBSS, dysphagia, and cognitive assessment and treatment
• Experience with stroke rehabilitation

Preferred Qualifications

• VitalStim experience
• FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing)
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) experience

Work Environment

Dress code requires black scrubs. You should be flexible, a team player, positive, and able to work independently.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $1,898.
