RN (Registered Nurse)

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Self-scheduling with cyclic rotation available
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• 22-bed unit with average daily census of 6 patients
• One day of unit-specific orientation required
• BLS certification required
• Nebraska nursing license required for submission
• Must live more than 50 miles from facility (driver's license verification required)
• Cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit facility
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove results in contract termination
• Must pass open book skills exam on Friday during orientation with 90% or higher
• 30-minute response time required if called back from on-call status
• Care for orthopedic patients including total knee, hip, ankle, and shoulder replacements, plus spine surgeries
• Administer pain medications, antibiotics, and blood products
• Float to Med Surg, rehab, or PCU units as needed
• Work with telemetry equipment with dedicated tele techs for interpretation
• Collaborate with charge nurse who takes patient assignments
• Work alongside patient care technicians with 1:13 ratios
• Use EPIC charting system
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
