Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job in Richmond, VA

VCU Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment beginning July 20, 2026. You will work nights on a 3x12 schedule, earning $2,592 weekly, and gain experience across pediatric critical care settings.

Role Overview

You will provide respiratory care to neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents in both PICU and NICU environments. Your responsibilities include assisting with intubations, managing high-risk deliveries, attending external transports, and providing care in the pediatric ED at this Level 1 trauma center. You may float within scope as needed and will complete approximately 6 hours of orientation modules during your first week.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Current RRT credential and valid Virginia license
• BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
• Competency in high-risk delivery attendance and external transports
• Epic charting experience
• Proficiency with ventilators, including Servo I and Puritan Bennett models
• Experience with heliox, HFOV, HFJV, BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and nitric oxide administration
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases
