Nuclear Medical Technician - Nuclear Med Technician

Job Details:

• Perform general nuclear medicine examinations in a hospital-based, acute care environment
• Conduct therapeutic procedures and PET/CT patient exams
• Provide on-call services as required
• Perform nuclear medicine quality control measures, patient exams, and procedures as requested by medical staff
• Assist radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures
• Complete documentation for all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams
• Verify written and electronic orders and related health information to ensure timely performance and reporting of nuclear medicine exams and procedures
• Complete appropriate documentation for the administration, receipt, return, decay, and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of hospital quality indicators
• Schedule may require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts
• On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
• Must reside at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
• Required certifications: ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB), and American Heart Association BLS
• Must be a graduate of a CAHEA-accredited program or equivalent
• Minimum one year of post-graduate experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred
