CVICU RN Job in Charleston, SC

MUSC Health Charleston is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). You will work as a Cardiac Mechanical Support Coordinator, providing specialized care to patients with advanced heart failure and durable mechanical circulatory support devices.

Schedule & Duration

• 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (or 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM)
• 1 weekend of call per month plus 1 weekday of call required
• Block schedules available pending manager approval based on unit needs
• 91-day assignment starting August 24, 2026
• Guaranteed hours subject to facility calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Compensation

• $2,227 weekly pay

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on both inpatient and outpatient services
• Service and troubleshoot cardiac devices in inpatient and clinic settings
• Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in cardiac mechanical support devices
• Work independently with advanced cardiac devices
• Float within scope to meet facility needs

Required Experience & Credentials

• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience; preference for 1 year managing advanced heart failure patients
• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN license
• BLS certification required
• Demonstrated experience with Durable MCS devices (HM 3, Heartware, BrioVAD), IABP, and Impella devices
• Strong cardiac background with VAD, IABP, and Impella experience required
• CTICU and VAD Coordinator experience is a plus
• Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
