Job Details:

• Monday through Friday schedule with 8-10 hour varied day shifts
• 40 hours per week guaranteed with no cancellations
• Accurately administer external beam radiation therapy to patients according to physician prescriptions
• Perform startup procedures for the linear accelerator and simulator
• Consistently perform morning quality assurance and document deviations of 5% or greater to the director or physicist
• Perform conventional and CT simulations in a reproducible manner
• Fabricate immobilization devices and custom blocking
• Complete photon and electron block fabrication accurately
• Perform Field QA for IMRT and compensator fields
• Document patient setup and communicate deviations or problems to the physician
• Perform weekly portal imaging or IGRT as directed
• Maintain patient appointments within 5 minutes of scheduled time
• Schedule appointments appropriately and accurately submit billing
• Interact with dosimetry and retrieve DRRs, calculations, and treatment plans
• Perform weekly chart checks and assist MD with on-treatment visits
• Participate in chart rounds and tumor boards
• Practice all aspects of radiation safety and report any machine malfunctions
• Equipment used: Varian 21iX Linear Accelerator and Pinnacle treatment planning software
• EMR system: Mosaiq and Allscripts
• Record and verify system: Mosaiq
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Radiation Therapist - ARRT (T)
• Current Arizona State CTT Radiation Therapist certification required
• Heavy physical demands including lifting up to 50-100 pounds, constant standing, and repetitive motions
• OSHA Exposure Category 1 - involves exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues
