Respiratory Therapist Job in Akron, OH

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a travel assignment at Akron Campus, a Level 1 Trauma Center in Akron, Ohio. This is a night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts over a 91-day assignment beginning November 8, 2026. You will earn $2,231 weekly.

Position Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of recent respiratory care experience
• Valid Ohio Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
• Current RRT certification (or CRT with RRT obtained within 120 days of start date)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Interview required
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off allowed during assignment

Your Role

You will provide respiratory care in an all-adult acute care setting, working with primary devices including PB 980 and PB 840 ventilators, V60 noninvasive ventilator, Epoc handheld analyzer, and ParaPac Plus transport ventilator. Your responsibilities include:

• Confirm physician orders and assess appropriateness to ensure quality patient care
• Monitor and document patient tolerance and response to therapy and treatment in medical records
• Perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures per department policy or protocol
• Respond to emergencies and participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Set up and maintain all equipment and administer medical gases and medications
• Participate in patient care teams and quality improvement programs
• Attend in-services, meetings, and conferences to maintain proficiency in respiratory care skills
