Med Surg RN Job in Paducah, KY

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Paducah, KY is seeking an RN for Medical-Surgical nursing. This is a 3x12 night shift position with an 89-day duration, starting June 8, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,196.47.

Your Role

You will deliver patient-centered care grounded in comprehensive assessments and individualized treatment planning. Working within your RN scope of practice, you will conduct nursing rounds, perform assessments and treatments, and facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges. You will explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, recognizing their cultural, developmental, and age-related needs in all care decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and collect objective and subjective data
• Develop prioritized problem lists in collaboration with the inter-professional team
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition
• Coordinate care and develop individualized treatment plans
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members
• Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care
• Provide patient and family education tailored to their needs
• Execute discharge orders and coordinate discharge planning with Case Management
• Provide input into patient and nurse assignments based on staffing and acuity
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI prevention
• Engage in unit-based activities supporting organizational values
