Schedule and Expectations

You'll work nights on a 5x8 schedule. Call, weekend, and holiday coverage is required as part of your commitment to the department.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures using pulsed x-ray energy
  • Utilize computer processing and related techniques to produce diagnostic images
  • Verify patient orders, names, birth dates, and medical history prior to procedures
  • Perform and document peripheral venipuncture when necessary for exams
  • Document all patient care incidents in the electronic health record
  • Execute and document time out procedures for invasive procedures
  • Follow departmental protocols for all examinations
  • Coordinate with transport and nursing units to facilitate patient exams
  • Continuously monitor patients throughout examinations
  • Implement radiation protection measures for patients and staff
  • Apply ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to all exams
  • Assist radiologists and authorized providers with examinations as needed

Additional Duties

  • Plan and execute daily patient flow and staff schedules
  • Participate in training new employees on equipment functionality and exam protocols
  • Provide supervision and instruction to imaging students during clinical rotations
  • Stay current on regulatory standards and changes in the field
  • Maintain professional working relationships and adhere to all hospital policies
