Occupational Therapist Job in Syracuse, NY

SUNY Upstate University Hospital – Downtown Campus is seeking an Occupational Therapist for acute care. You will provide occupational therapy services in a fast-paced hospital setting, working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with one weekend shift per month. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 2, 2026.

Your Responsibilities

• Administer occupational therapy services as prescribed by physicians
• Evaluate patients and determine specific treatment goals through consultation with healthcare professionals, patients, and families
• Maintain process record keeping and related reports
• Attend designated clinics, rounds, and conferences to provide patient information and coordinate care
• Interact with patient families as part of the care coordination process
• Maintain equipment and supplies
• Participate in educational programs for staff as designated

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
• Minimum 2 years of occupational therapy experience
• Required experience in acute care (not acute inpatient rehab)
• New York State licensure or eligibility for licensure

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in neuro/concussion outpatient settings

Compensation and Schedule

Weekly pay is $3,327 for this full-time position. You will work a 5x8 schedule over 91 days in Syracuse, New York.
