About this role
You will provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients at Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health, managing cases ranging from straightforward to highly complex. Working 3x12 night shifts, you'll take responsibility for your assigned patient group while serving as a key member of a Level 1 Trauma facility team.
Your responsibilities include:
- Deliver bedside care to pediatric patients across multiple units, including surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hematology oncology, step-down, and cardiac pediatrics
- Float to NICU for feeder-grower and low-acuity patient assignments
- Manage tracheostomy care and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Administer infusion therapy and serve as first-line provider for specialized nursing skills
- Administer medications, monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
- Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations, and intervene as needed
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicate with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions
- Make appropriate referrals for patient care needs
- Delegate tasks to support staff
Required qualifications:
- Current Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Current BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program
- Level 1 Trauma experience and ability to float throughout all children's units
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher.
This 89-day assignment begins April 20, 2026. Weekend and holiday coverage is required.
