About this role
Join Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Crisis Response as a Registered Nurse on our cardiac telemetry unit. This 12-hour night shift role (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) offers 36 hours per week with a contract length of 13 to 26 weeks. Weekly pay is $1,945.30.
Role Overview
You will care for adult patients in a primary cardiac and stroke unit with patient ratios of 1:5–6, scaling to 1:6 during surge periods. The unit is high-volume, turning over 78 to 90 patients per week. Patient diagnoses include unstable angina, low-risk chest pain, heart failure, dysrhythmias, stroke, TIA, pre- and post-pacemaker implantation, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, and post-cardiac catheterization patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage dysrhythmic events
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips (Cardizem, Dopamine, Amiodarone)
- Manage cardiac catheterization patients, including TR band care
- Provide pacemaker and central line care
- Administer IV therapy and high-flow oxygen; operate BiPAP (chronic use)
- Float as needed; on-call required based on patient census
Schedule & Staffing
You will work every other weekend, plus 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays in each 6-week period. Self-scheduling is available with leadership oversight; no block scheduling. Weekend and on-call requirements apply.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with similar acuity and ratios
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry interpretation, cardiac drips, and heparin protocols
- Experience with Epic (Dimensions) charting; SBAR documentation
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- 36-hour orientation required; availability every day during week one

Facility Details
Dress code: Navy blue or white scrubs or a mixture of both; Novant t-shirts are permitted. Jackets must match uniform color and material (no fleece). No crocs with holes. Unit systems include Pyxis and Epic charting.
