PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 3x12 shift schedule
• Every other weekend coverage required based on operational needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float required to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed (ratios 1:5/1:6)
• No call required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Care for adult patients with diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, COPD/asthma, sepsis, pneumothorax, ESRD/dialysis, hypertension/hypotension, ETOH withdrawal, and general surgery
• Skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, chest tube management, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, telemetry monitoring, and IV management
• Work with special equipment including bedside monitoring, ultrasound IV, cardiac monitoring, and lift equipment
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Must have compact license or Maryland license
• Up to 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract (not during first two weeks)
