About this role
VCU Medical Center is seeking an X-Ray Technician for a travel assignment in Richmond, VA. This is a 91-day position working 4x10 night shifts, with weekly pay of $2,448.
Role Overview
You will obtain plain film radiographs in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting across inpatient units using mobile and fixed radiographic equipment. You will work with diverse patient populations including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. As needed, you may float within scope to support departmental demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform radiographic imaging in acute care, emergency, ICU, and trauma settings
- Operate portable and bedside radiographic equipment on inpatient units
- Document procedures and maintain patient records in Epic
- Assist with specialized procedures including C-Arm, ERCP, arthrography, and myelography
- Manage imaging across multiple anatomical areas and protocols
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of radiography experience
- Level 1 Trauma Center experience highly preferred
- Recent inpatient hospital experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Current ARRT R certification, BLS certification, and VA state license required
- Proficiency with GE and Siemens equipment, PACS and McKesson systems
Assignment Details
Start date: August 3, 2026. Night shifts (4x10 schedule). This assignment places you in a high-acuity trauma environment where you will develop advanced skills in emergency radiography and acute care imaging.
Natural nail policy is in effect. A BSN is preferred but not required for this role.
