About this role
Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, GA is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for their Rehab Services department. This is a day shift position with no call, holiday, or weekend requirements.
Position Details
- Schedule: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Duration: 91 days
- Weekly pay: $2,072
- Start date: June 9, 2026
Your Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized speech and language plans of care addressing speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing disorders
- Implement speech language therapy treatment plans and select appropriate treatment activities based on patient needs
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to establish, monitor, and evaluate treatment programs
- Provide ongoing patient and family education and training to support progress and home carryover
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge plans according to departmental guidelines and regulatory standards
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA and facility policy
- Adhere to departmental dress code policy and wear ID badge appropriately
- Participate in staff meetings, required in-services, and process improvement activities
- Complete core and annual competencies according to established timelines
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program
- Current SLP—Speech Language Pathologist license (must be obtained by hire date)
- BLS—Basic Life Support certification (must be obtained by hire date)
- Effective communication skills, customer service focus, and team orientation
- Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) certification
