PACU Registered Nurse Job in Clinton, MD

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, MD. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 27, 2026, with 4x10 day shifts at $2,298.24 per week.

Shift and Schedule

• Ten-hour shifts operating 7:30 AM to 11:30 PM
• Alternating days, mids, and nights
• Two weekends required per 6-week period
• Call required: approximately 5–6 shifts per 6-week period during day and evening hours
• Float to ICU coverage required

Your Role

You will provide post-operative care in Phase I and Phase II recovery, including pre- and post-operative care for patients across all age groups—adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. You will manage a 2:1 patient ratio across all shifts. Clinical responsibilities include airway assessment, arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, dysrhythmia recognition and management, IV vasopressor administration, malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment and management, PCA pump management, and central line care.

Procedural specialties include orthopedics, GYN, vascular, ENT, endoscopy, cystoscopy, colorectal, pediatric dental, breast, and neuro/spine.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• At least one prior travel assignment completed
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Cerner charting system experience
• Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam—minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
