Med Surg RN Job in Geneva, NY

Finger Lakes Health Geneva General Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for our acute care Med/Surg unit. You'll work a 3x12 rotating schedule covering days, nights, weekends, and holidays, plus 2 on-call shifts every 4 weeks, totaling 36 hours per week.

What You'll Do

• Assess patient and family needs through active listening, direct observation, and health team communication
• Develop individualized, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Provide direct care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans based on patient response or change in condition
• Educate patients and families on self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing
• Promote comfort and provide emotional support within a healing environment
• Administer medications and apply clinical interventions with demonstrated skill
• Advocate for and protect the health, safety, and rights of patients
• Participate in quality improvement activities and engage in ongoing self-evaluation of nursing practice

Requirements

• New York State RN Licensure
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse
• BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), and NIHSS certifications required

You will have occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens, blood, body fluids, and tissues in this role.

Compensation & Duration

Weekly pay: $2,187.90. Assignment duration: 96 weeks. Start date: July 20, 2026. Location: 196 North St, Geneva, NY.
