Anesthesia Technician Job in Oakland, CA

You will work as an Anesthesia Technician at Sutter Health Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Hawthorne, supporting anesthesia providers in a high-volume surgical environment. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026.

Schedule and Setting

• 5x8 shift schedule, Monday through Friday
• Operating room work with 1:4 patient ratio
• Cases run Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• On-call coverage required on weekdays and weekends as needed

Patient Population and Case Mix

• Adult-only patients
• Daily census of 35–40 cases per day, including Cath Lab
• Specialties: total joints, orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, GYN, robotics, cardiac, urology, ENT, and breast procedures
• No neurology, spine, or mother/baby cases

Key Responsibilities

You will manage anesthesia machine operation, checkout, and troubleshooting; assist with arterial line management, central venous access, and emergency intubations; prepare and maintain breathing circuits, cell saver equipment, and rapid infusers; position and transport patients; perform room setup and turnover; and ensure sterilization, aseptic technique, and universal protocol compliance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of anesthesia tech experience
• 1+ years of travel healthcare experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, ASATT, BLS, Cer.A.T., and Cer.A.T.T. (AHA or ARC only)
• Proficiency with Epic charting system

Preferred Qualifications

• LTAC experience
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience
