Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM with some schedule flexibility based on unit needs
• Holidays scheduled per unit needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Pediatric MRI Technologist position requiring comfort scanning patients from neonates through age 18
• Provide age-appropriate care for all pediatric patients
• Operate MRI equipment efficiently and safely while adhering to all MRI safety policies and guidelines
• Prepare patients for scans and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort
• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging and ensure timely delivery of results
• Adjust scanning parameters to accommodate a variety of patient ages
• Properly screen and prepare patients for scanning and identify contraindications for safe scanning
• Independently determine when a scan must be stopped due to motion and sedation/anesthesia is needed
• Document all procedures while maintaining confidentiality of patient information
• Perform patient care tasks as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility
• Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience required
• Minimum 6 months of pediatric experience required
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
• Siemens scanner experience required
• ARRT certification required
• NYS Radiology Tech License required (candidates without license at time of submission will be considered but must obtain prior to start)
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Associate degree in magnetic resonance imaging or radiology required
• Must be familiar with medical terminology and able to stand for extended periods
