Special Procedures Technologist in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an Allied Health Professional to work as a Special Procedures Technologist in the Interventional Radiology department. This is an 89-day contract position starting June 8, 2026.

Position Overview

You will work 5 days per week on 8-hour day shifts. On-call requirements include 5–7 call shifts per 7-week block, with 2–4 of those falling on weekends. You must be available for callback and holiday coverage as needed.

Your Responsibilities

• Select exposure factors, position patients, and produce diagnostic quality radiologic images
• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist radiologists during procedures
• Operate all departmental equipment and report malfunctions to management
• Complete assigned procedures in a timely manner and assist with room turnover
• Maintain medication security, allowing access to authorized personnel only
• Provide healthcare services to patients of all age groups
• Use Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS
• Answer technical telephone inquiries from physicians and hospital personnel
• Participate in hospital performance improvement activities when warranted

Required Qualifications

• NYS License or ability to obtain prior to start date
• ARRT certification
• BLS certification from American Heart Association
• Minimum 2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

• VIR (Vascular and Interventional Radiology) certification

You must demonstrate competency in interpersonal relationships with all age groups. Weekly pay is $3,861.
