Oncology RN Job in Hermiston, OR

Good Shepherd Medical Center is seeking an RN to join its Oncology unit in Hermiston, OR. This is a day-shift position with a 91-day duration, starting October 12, 2026. You will earn $2,457 weekly.

Your role:

• Provide direct and indirect patient care to chemotherapy patients
• Administer chemotherapy medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and nurse practitioners
• Communicate efficiently with the care team regarding changes in patient clinical condition and policy updates
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient and unit conditions to ensure safe, quality care
• Initiate and maintain computerized Plan of Care and Standard of Care documentation on patient admission
• Perform administrative functions including teaching, triage, counseling, supervision, and delegation
• Provide age-specific, culturally sensitive, and psychosocial patient care
• Work independently under general guidance from the Nurse Manager in accordance with institutional policies
• Participate in the organization's performance improvement plan

Requirements:

• Current RN license in the State of Oregon
• Minimum one year of acute care or medical/surgical nursing experience
• BLS certification
• ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Provider Card
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and push, pull, carry, or reposition objects or patients weighing up to 25 pounds
• Strong critical thinking skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous oncology experience
• BSN degree
• Oncology Nursing Certification or willingness to obtain within 3 years of hire
