Endoscopy Technician Job in Rochester, NY

URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to join our team in Rochester, NY. This is an 8-hour shift position with a duration of 89 days, starting July 6, 2026.

Position Overview

You will support our endoscopy department by preparing equipment, assisting with procedures, and maintaining strict sterile and High Level Disinfection (HLD) standards. Your work ensures patient safety and procedural efficiency across GI and related endoscopic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-cleaning and inspection of all endoscopes, including leak testing, cleaning, and high level disinfecting per regulatory standards
• Disassemble equipment, identify defective or malfunctioning parts, and perform preventive maintenance on procedure supplies and equipment
• Apply aseptic technique principles during equipment preparation, maintenance, and procedure assistance
• Monitor sterile and HLD integrity throughout procedures and identify potential compromises
• Determine appropriate High Level Disinfection methods based on material and manufacturer instructions
• Follow established protocols for reprocessing endoscopes, accessories, and equipment storage
• Check and calibrate equipment according to facility protocol
• Obtain and document vital signs, and transport patients as part of ambulatory technician duties

Requirements

• Allied Health Professional credential
• Minimum 2 years of endoscopy or related experience
• Travel experience with at least 1 completed travel assignment
• Monday through Friday schedule with day shifts and night call responsibilities
• High Level Disinfection (HLD) certification highly desired

Compensation

You will receive $1,430 per week for this assignment.
