Med Surg RN Job in Nashville, TN

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the 9 Tower Surgical unit at Centennial Medical Center, a 36-bed medical-surgical floor. This is a fast-paced environment with short patient lengths of stay, requiring strong time management and efficiency. You will care for patients in the immediate post-operative period and beyond, managing complex wound care and surgical recovery needs.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care with a 1:5 patient ratio, working alongside 8 bedside RNs and 1 Charge RN per shift
• Maintain post-operative surgical procedure sites and perform wound care, including packing, dressing changes, and wound vac maintenance
• Manage Foley catheter care and continuous bladder irrigation
• Handle ostomy appliance changes and maintenance
• Insert nasogastric tubes and manage suction
• Administer TPN and blood products
• Provide central line care and dressing changes
• Work with bariatric fitted ADLs, wound vacs, drains, and lifts
• Participate in bedside shift reporting
• Float to other medical-surgical units as assigned

Position Details:

You will work 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week, nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The assignment is 91 days, starting May 22, 2026. Weekly pay is $1,918.44. You will use the Meditech EMR system and must maintain a professional appearance in black, grey, white, or royal blue scrubs.

What We're Looking For:

You must hold a current BLS certification. Background in post-operative surgical areas is preferred, including vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, or colorectal specialties. You demonstrate teamwork, an outgoing personality, and a strong customer service orientation. You maintain prompt attendance, open communication, professional appearance, and responsiveness to patient needs.
