Respiratory Therapist Job in Salem, VA

Join Lewisgale Medical Center VA as a Respiratory Therapist on a 91-day travel assignment. You will work 3 twelve-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with a rotating weekend schedule.

Your responsibilities include:

• Float across CICU, SICU, MICU, and step-down units as needed
• Manage ventilators and BiPAP devices for patient respiratory support
• Perform basic floor therapies including nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy (CPT), and nocturnal pulse oximetry monitoring
• Obtain arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage BiPAP therapy
• Execute procedures including high-flow nasal cannula (HHN), CPT, BiPAP and ventilator management, and extubation support

You will work with respiratory equipment including EPOC Blood Gases analyzers, PB 840, Newport, ReVel, LTV, and V60 devices. The facility uses Meditech EMR for documentation. You will be part of a respiratory therapy unit with 30 staff members, working alongside 5 therapists on the night shift including the charge person.

Requirements:

• Current BLS certification required
• ICU experience preferred
• Ventilator and BiPAP management experience preferred

Royal blue scrubs are required per facility dress code. This position offers $1,787.04 per week with an assignment start date of June 29, 2026.
