Certified Surgical Technologist Job in Roanoke, VA

You are a Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room. You will work 4x10 hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM with a random day off each week. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 30, 2026, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.

Role and Responsibilities

• Support surgical procedures across 25 OR suites in a Level I trauma center
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in orthopedic (total joints and trauma), neurosurgery, and general surgical cases—all three areas are mandatory
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams throughout procedures
• Work rotating weekends and on-call shifts, including occasional holidays; you must work at least one holiday during your 13-week contract
• Participate in a facility call-off structure (up to 1 shift per 2-week period may be cancelled)

Specialties and Equipment

The facility handles general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, gynecology, oncology, robotics, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and sports medicine. You will work with patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics. Experience with big belly, craniotomy, and orthopedic trauma cases is highly preferred. Robotic surgical training is highly preferred. Special equipment includes ROSA, da Vinci Si and Xi robotic systems, Stealth navigation, O-Arm imaging, and HIPEC technology.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification
• One of the following required certifications: NBSTSA, NCCT, or Military OR Tech Certification
• Virginia state license required; out-of-state licensees will need a 90-day authorization while the VA license is issued

Compensation and Schedule

Weekly pay is $2,020. You will receive benefits typical of ADEX Healthcare Staffing travel assignments. Housing arrangements and travel support are available to qualified candidates.
