About this role

Cone Health – Alamance Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Burlington, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 3, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,047.68.

Schedule and Staffing

  • Three 12-hour night shifts per week, typically 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (occasionally 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM as needed)
  • Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Self-scheduling available
  • Patient ratio of 4:1

Role Overview

You will provide emergency nursing care to all age groups—neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The ED treats approximately 180 visits daily across 58 rooms and beds. You will care for patients with trauma, medical emergencies, sepsis, cancer, behavioral health needs, and stroke-related conditions.

Required Experience and Certifications

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers welcome
  • EPIC charting system experience
  • STEMI and Stroke certified facility experience
  • Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and STARR/Behavioral population certifications
  • Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed; no study materials provided)

Clinical Skills

You will manage BiPAP/CPAP, administer blood products, care for ventilated patients, manage central lines, provide continuous IV sedation, perform CVA management, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, administer IV vasopressors, monitor ICP, perform phlebotomy, administer and monitor procedural sedation, perform triage, and start and maintain IVs.

Facility Resources

The hospital is a STEMI and Stroke certified facility with Level I and Level II trauma capabilities. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Hospital specialties include cath lab, women's health, and stroke care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Community hospital experience
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience
