Job Details:

• Operate medical imaging equipment directing high frequency sound waves to anatomy for diagnostic purposes
• Select correct equipment settings and direct patients into optimal positions for best imaging results
• Consistently obtain high quality imaging for Radiologist interpretation
• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and other special procedures as directed
• Consult with radiologist for exam review prior to patient discharge
• Provide ultrasound guidance for attending physicians during special procedures
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and notify Clinical Engineering when needed
• Verify orders and patient identification using two established identifiers
• Utilize full operation of ultrasound units and probes
• Obtain adequate imaging of requested anatomy with correct labeling of body part and viewing plane
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to utilize PACS (Picture Archive Communication System)
• Send images after hours when required
• Demonstrate competence within EPIC system
• Perform high level disinfection of endocavity probes per policy
• Maintain accurate patient records for all procedures performed while adhering to HIPAA standards
• Interact compassionately and effectively with sick or injured patients
