ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Past critical care experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Cerner charting system experience highly preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 3 weekend shifts per contract required
• Float to like units required
• Self-scheduling
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Daily census of 20 patients with 20 beds and 20 rooms
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, PICC line management, post neurosurgery management, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, traumatic brain injury management, and ventilator management
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
