NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Float required to other NICU/pediatric areas if not needed in Neonatal Intermediate
• Call required - at least 3 per contract, may vary depending on need
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, may change based on need
• Patient ratio of 1:3/4
• Medication system: Pyxis
• Documentation system: EPIC - minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required
• Must have NICU II experience; NICU III experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in role required; first-time travelers will be reviewed based on experience
• Patient types include neonates greater than 34 weeks
• Care includes post-op patients (G-tubes, ostomies), central lines, and septic workups for patients meeting unit criteria
• Focus on preparing families for discharge throughout patient stay
• 46-bed unit serving neonatal and infant patient population
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE, and SC nursing license
• Required skills include administration of blood and blood products, bubble CPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), neonatal sepsis management, phototherapy, and respiratory distress syndrome care
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy
