Med Surg RN Job in Lakewood, WA

You'll work as a registered nurse on a 34-bed Med/Tele Ortho unit at St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, Washington. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of November 2, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3 days per week, 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation as needed
• No call or standby requirement
• Weekly pay: $2,291.85

Unit Details

• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Nurse aide support available at 1:8 to 1:12 ratios
• Monitor technicians present; you'll read cardiac strips
• Charge nurse and house supervisor on-site
• Common patient populations include total joint replacements, cardiac rule-outs, pneumonia, psych, and post-op general surgery patients

Clinical Responsibilities

• Titrate drips including weight-based heparin
• Administer and initiate Nitro, Insulin, low-dose dopamine, and dobutamine
• Manage CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
• Chart in EPIC; experienced travelers may test out of EPIC orientation

Orientation & Placement

• Unit educator meeting followed by one full shift orientation
• Primary placement at St. Clare Hospital
• First to float within your unit; may float to Med Tele, PCU, or ICU for Med/Surg acuity patients or ER holding
• Potential float requirements throughout Region Two facilities in Tacoma, Enumclaw, and Lakewood

Requirements

• RN degree
• Current BLS (AHA) certification
• Professional scrubs in any color
• BSN not required
