ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• This is an 8-week assignment
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:2
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Weekend requirement: yes, varies/flexible
• Guaranteed hours: 8 and 10 hour shifts - 40 hours per workweek, 3 twelve-hour shifts - 36 hours per workweek, 4 twelve-hour shifts - 48 hours per workweek
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (NIH preferred)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to AAU and MS units
• Scrub color: red top, black bottoms
• Charting system: Cerner
• Free parking available
• Care for adults and geriatric patients in heavy medical ICU setting
• Handle pre/post cardiac catheterization patients and surgical cases (mainly GI or carotids)
• Manage patients from active 24/7 cardiac catheterization lab
• Required skills include: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, ventilator management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, and vasoactive drip titration
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and infection prevention protocols required
• Daily census of approximately 12 patients in 14-bed unit
