About this role
MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 91-day travel assignment. You will work 5x8 day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM in a hospital-based radiology and cardiology department.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform HIDA scans, bone scans, lung scans, and thyroid studies
- Start and maintain peripheral IVs according to protocol
- Follow isolation precautions and handle radioactive materials safely, including proper storage, handling, and disposal
- Operate GE, Hitachi, Phillips, Siemens, and Toshiba imaging equipment
- Document procedures in the Cerner charting system
- Apply nuclear medicine theory, techniques, and radiation safety practices
- Perform specialized molecular imaging procedures
- Work effectively in stressful and emergent situations
Requirements
- Allied Health Professional credential (Nuclear Medicine Technologist)
- Minimum 2 years of field experience; 1 year hospital-based experience preferred
- Current ARRT N or NMTCB (CNMT) certification
- Current BLS certification
- Valid DC license in hand at time of submission
- Current flu vaccine (no exemptions)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
